Not everyone has been lucky enough to try a sailing cruise.
Sometimes the fear of not knowing what to expect can leave you apprehensive.
Here are some of the most common curiosities.
Do not hesitate to contact us for more info.
As a catamaran, our boat offers more stability than a sailing boat and no skidding, making the trip pleasant even for those suffering from seasickness. Seasickness is caused by the movement of the boat on the waves and by its unexpected variations, to which the body, especially at the beginning, is not used to it. If you normally suffer from the ferry or car sickness, it would be advisable to have some remedy with you, only after hearing the advice of a doctor. Possible solutions include Travelgum chewing gum (suitable for short sailing); Xamamine (medicinal) and homeopathic solutions such as cocculus and ginger or wrist bracelets. It helps to eat little and often preferring all dry foods (crackers, rusks, bread), avoid drinking alcohol or smoking but there are two winning remedies: if you start feeling uncomfortable at sea, grab the helm! If the boat is not moving, then dive in the water for a nice swim and everything goes away!
First of all, avoid carrying rigid suitcases if it is not strictly necessary. Better to use bags that once emptied will be easier to fold and stow.
It’s summer … it’s hot so most of the time you’ll be in swimsuit. Don’t overpack but remember to bring a windbreaker, a hat, a long-sleeved shirt that will keep you protected from the sun during the day and warm in the evening , a sarong or a beach towel. In the boat you are barefoot! … But a pair of socks in the evening may come in handy. Blankets for cooler nights are always available on board.
Absolutely! The boat is equipped with a boiler and also the engine, by turning, heats the water available in the tanks.
Yes, we have electricity! You can always charge your cell phones, PCs, cameras with a normal power outlet, just like the ones you have at home! This is thanks to current inverters, solar panels and generators. Only some equipment such as hair dryers or straighteners require the engines to be on to have sufficient power, just inform the crew before starting.
Only if you want it! The phone cover is almost never missing sailing near the coast. You can also request wifi if you find it necessary. Even if the catamaran is still out of the harbor, you do not remain prisoners in the boat thanks to the tender (a dinghy of almost 4 meters). With the tender it will be possible to go ashore whenever you wish.
Unfortunately not. We rent our catamarans “exclusively” and do not sell cabin seats. This means that those who rent with us have the entire catamaran and up to 8/10 beds available. It shouldn’t be difficult for you to convince some friends or relatives to share this holiday with you!
On board we have everything you need to enjoy your holiday. The kitchen is fully equipped with plenty of ladles, a blender, pans and pots. We try to reduce the use of plastic by using ceramic plates, thick glasses and stainless steel cutlery.
You will also find bathroom and kitchen cleaning products that will be at your disposal during the week.
We encourage you to recycle as much as possible and on board you will find various containers for glass, plastic and paper. Take ecological cleaners and shampoos with you if you can.
On board you will also find a beautiful outdoor Weber barbecue, perhaps to grill some freshly caught fish! We will also provide you with a trolling rod.
For your entertainment on board you will find playing cards and books in different languages. We invite you if you want to leave your book on board and read one of those left by previous groups.
In addition there will be snorkeling equipment and on request you can also have one or more Paddle boards and a kayak to explore the coast independently or do some exercise.
No, you don’t. According to weather conditions, the skipper will find the perfect anchorage that will allow you a calm and silent night at anchor. Some areas also have buoy camps available. Thanks to the tender you can go ashore whenever you want. In addition, we have equipped all our catamarans with desalinator for fresh water and solar panels to always guarantee the necessary energy. In this way our boats are completely autonomous and entering the port will only be your choice and not a necessity.
Our boats are insured and the responsibility of the boat falls on the skipper. As a customer, you remain responsible only for damage caused to the on-board equipment, for damage to bathrooms, blackouts, loss of cushions etc.
In most marinas you will find a supermarket and various shops where you can do groceries. However, large hypermarkets or small local markets are often the best choice. Our staff will be able to help you in picking the best option. If you want transfers to get you there and back this can be arranged. Or even better, we are able to get your shopping to the pier.
In addition, with the Hostess / chef on board service, we only ask you to fill out a list of preferences and the crew will take care of everything. At your arrival the shopping will be already on board.
We accept payments by bank transfer and on boarding, the extras in cash.
The payment method is 50% upon signing the contract for booking confirmation
The 50% balance is due 30 days from the boarding date.
* During the Covid-19 emergency payment method and cancellation policy have been modified
The price includes the rental of the boat, insurance and VAT. In addition, pillows and blankets, dishes and kitchen accessories, a gas cylinder, tender and mooring for the first and last night at our bases.
The extras are not included such as skipper, hostess / chef, final cleaning, pantry, linen set (sheets, pillowcases and towels), beach towels, diesel, ports, water games, tastings, excursions, transfers from / to our base.
Much less than you think. Our catamarans are sailing boats and therefore equipped with two modest inboard engines. Their consumption is very low. At the end of the holiday, the amount due will be calculated based on the actual sailing hours, the cost is € 18 / hour. Often we sail using only the force of the wind, sometimes we go slower but the pleasure you feel when sliding on the water without any noise is incomparable. On average, in a week of charter you will sail by engine for about twenty hours.
Sure! In agreement with the skipper, the weather and sea conditions, we will try to satisfy all your requests. But if you don’t know where to go and you don’t know the places, trust us and we will share with you the most unique places and secret coves but also villages, small harbors and restaurants that we have discovered during our years at sea.
