Because we must all have a life with a sea view

Almersia

Not everyone has been lucky enough to experience a sailing cruise. Sometimes the fear of not knowing what you're getting into can stop you from taking the next step. Here are some of the most common curiosities.

Don’t hesitate to write to us to ask us more.

  • Our boat, as a catamaran, offers more stability than a sailing boat and no heeling, making the trip pleasant even for those who usually suffer from seasickness. Seasickness is caused by the movement of the boat on the waves and its unexpected variations, to which the body, especially at the beginning, is not used to.

If you normally suffer from ferry or car sickness, it would be advisable to have some remedies with you, only after having heard the opinion of a doctor about the possibility of personal use. Among the possible solutions there are Travelgum chewing gums (suitable for short navigations); Xamamine (medicine) and homeopathic solutions such as cocculus and ginger and wrist bracelets.

It helps to eat little and often, and above all dry foods (crackers, rusks, bread). Avoid drinking alcohol or smoking, but there are absolutely two winning remedies. If you feel unwell at sea, take the helm! And if instead you are still, a jump in the water for a nice swim and everything passes.

  • First of all, avoid bringing rigid suitcases unless it is strictly necessary. It’s better to use bags which, once emptied, will be easier to fold and stow.

It's summer, it's hot. Most of the time you will be in a bathing suit, don't overdo it with luggage but remember to pack a windbreaker, a hat, a long-sleeved shirt that will keep you protected from the sun during the day and warm in the evening, a pareo or a beach towel.

You are barefoot on the boat! But a pair of evening socks could come in handy. Blankets for cooler nights are always available on board.

  • Of course, yes! The boat is equipped with a boiler and the engine also heats the water available in the tanks by turning.

  • Well yes, we have electricity! It is always possible to charge your mobile phones, PCs, cameras with a normal socket, just like the ones you have at home!

This is thanks to power inverters, solar panels and generators.

Only large utilities such as hair dryers or straighteners require the engines to be switched on to have sufficient power. Just warn the crew before switching on.

  • Air conditioning is not essential. We are at sea, there is always a light breeze and the boat is well ventilated. It's more common to need a blanket at night than to wake up hot in the morning. However, on some of our boats there is also an air conditioning system.

  • Only if you want to be! The telephone line is almost never missing, always sailing close to the coast. You can also request Wi-Fi service if you deem it necessary.

Even if the catamaran is anchored outside the port, you won't get caught in the boat, but thanks to the tender (an almost 4-metre dinghy), it will be possible to go ashore whenever you wish.

  • Sorry, but no. We charter our catamarans exclusively and do not sell cabin seats. This means that those who rent with us have the entire catamaran and up to 8-10 beds available. It won't be difficult for you to convince some friends or relatives to share this holiday with you!

  • On board we have everything you need to enjoy your holiday.

The kitchen is well-equipped like a home kitchen with ladles, a blender, saucepans and pots. We don't like abusing plastic and for this reason we have chosen to equip our catamarans also with ceramic plates, thick glass glasses and stainless-steel cutlery.

You will also find bathroom and kitchen cleaning products that you can freely use during the week.

We encourage you to recycle as much as possible and you will find several containers for glass, plastic and paper on board.

If you can, please bring ecological detergents and shampoos with you.

On board you will also find a beautiful outdoor Weber barbecue, perhaps to roast some freshly caught prey! We will also provide you with a trolling rod.

For your entertainment aboard, you will find playing cards and books in several languages. We invite you if you want to leave your book on board and read one of those left by previous groups.

There is also snorkelling equipment and on request, you can also have one or more paddle boards and a kayak to explore the coast independently or do some exercise.

  • Absolutely not. In accordance with the marine weather conditions, the skipper will find the perfect anchorage that will allow you a calm and silent night at anchor. Some areas also have buoy fields available. Thanks to the tender you can go ashore whenever you want. We have also equipped all our catamarans with desalinators to produce fresh water and solar panels to always have the necessary energy. In this way our boats are completely autonomous and entering the port will be only your choice and not a necessity.

  • Our boats are insured and the responsibility of the vessel lies with the skipper. As a customer, you remain responsible only for damage caused to the on-board equipment, for example loss or damage to bathrooms, cushions, blinds, etc.

  • In most marinas, you will find a supermarket and various shops where you can do your grocery shopping. However, large hypermarkets or small local markets are often the best choice. Our staff will be able to direct you in the best possible way and if you wish, they will organise a transfer to accompany you or, more simply, we are able to get your shopping to the pier.

Furthermore, with the hostess/cook service on board, we only ask you to compile a list of preferences and the crew will take care of everything. When you arrive, your shopping will already have been placed on board.

  • We accept payments by bank transfer and in cash upon boarding the selected extras.

The payment method is 50% upon signing the contract for booking confirmation.

The balance of 50% is due 30 days after the embarkation date.
*During the Covid-19 emergency we changed the payment method and cancellation policy

  • The price of the boat includes the rental of the vehicle, the insurance and VAT. Plus pillows and blankets, crockery and kitchen accessories, a gas bottle, tender and mooring for the first and last night at our bases.

  • Extras such as skipper, hostess / chef, final cleaning, galley, linen set (sheets / pillowcases and face and shower towel), towels, diesel, ports, water games, tastings, excursions, transfers from / to the our base, are not included.

  • Much less than you think. Our catamarans are sailing boats and therefore equipped with two modest inboard engines. Their consumption is very low. At the end of the holiday, the amount due will be calculated based on the actual hours of navigation, the cost is €18/hour.

Often, we sail using only the force of the wind, sometimes we go slower but the pleasure you feel gliding on the water without any noise has no equal.

On average, in a week of charter you sail by motor for about twenty hours.

  • Certainly! In accordance with the skipper, the weather and sea conditions, we will try to satisfy all your requests.

But if you don't know where to go, trust us and we’ll share with you the most unique places and secret coves but also villages, hamlets, marinas and restaurants that we have gradually discovered during our years on the sea.
